Specific tasks include:
Job Description
Responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of all actuarial services provided in the Asia Pacific region.
Monitoring and analysis of results (claims experience, lapse experience etc.). Adjusting pricing assumptions and taking actions appropriately.
Projection of future business development, strategy development and write-ups on quarterly results, annual planning and long-term strategy.
Preparing internal and external presentations using PowerPoint. Presentations on actuarial topics at industry conferences, market seminars etc.
Review pricing reports and profit tests from actuarial students (using PROPHET). Pricing life and critical illness products for all major Asian markets.
Develop life and critical illness products for clients in Asia, including deriving rates for new benefits.
Support local marketing staff with client visits, market seminars etc.
The role will also include leading a team of three actuarial students, who carry out the work outlined above, and who would welcome the opportunity to learn from a mentor. Also, on the marketing side the successful candidate would be expected to go out to talk to new and existing clients in order to develop new business
Required Skills and Experience
15+ years experience in the life industry (re/insurance and/or actuarial consulting)
Pricing and/or product development experience is important and experience with profit testing software, preferably PROPHET is critical.
Proven or demonstrable marketing, client interaction, strategy and business development skills are important for this role.
Reinsurance or consulting experience and existing business relationships in Asia is ideal.
Enthusiastic about writing up and making presentations to clients and conferences
Japanese, Korean and/or Chinese language skills are a useful extra
