A leading investment manager requires a Business Analyst to achieve product and client profit improvements by performing financial analysis on products and making recommendations on courses of action to relevant stakeholders
Our client is a specialist investment manager with over $100 billion in funds under management. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the parent group they operate independently with a pure investment focus, but benefit from the resources of the parent. As a Business Analyst you will be required to take an active role in partnering with the business to develop relevant asset class, team, channel, client and product profitability information; and achieve product and client profit improvements by performing financial analysis on products and making recommendations on courses of action to relevant stakeholders.
Main responsibilities include:
Design and produce product profitability reports and undertake ad-hoc product modelling requests. Undertake detailed analysis and reporting on the profitability of their products. The objective of this key function is to determine where profits are being generated in the business, forming a key input into developing action plans for realising their long-term strategic goals. This capability is currently being developed.
Undertake financial modelling and analysis to support the development of new products. Work closely with the relevant business managers in the development of financial models and the undertaking of financial analysis.
Develop and maintain Profit Pool Contribution (PPC) rates (a sales index). Determine rates for new products, conduct ad-hoc reviews of current rates and maintain the database of rates.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the necessary skills and competencies to be able to work independently with the business on specific assignments, from initial briefing to closure (with active support and guidance from the manager and the team).
To be considered for this role you will need:
Strong Excel skills (advanced modelling i.e. building models)
Financial Services experience
Experience in a Financial/Business analysis role
Very strong interpersonal skills
