We are currently seeking a talented Director of Payroll for our San Antonio, TX facility.

As a Director of Payroll for USAA, An HR Director typically manages a mix of professional individual contributors and managers. They are responsible for multi-CoSA initiatives in compensation, benefits, employee relations, learning systems, staffing or operations, or may manage multiple units within HR. Directs work and allocates resources as needed. Typically reports to an HR executive. Job duties:

- Integrates implementation efforts of HR initiatives across functions and organizations. - Applies broad knowledge and seasoned experience to address complex/critical design and organizational issues. - Focuses their organization on efforts that add significant value. - Creates open channels of communication and expresses ideas clearly. - Directs the work activity of manager and individual contributors. Tracks performance and establishes metrics as needed. Addresses policy, program, or process issues without delay. - Manages employee performance and makes pay related decisions. - Ensures plans, programs and processes align with the HR mission and USAA's business strategy.

Qualified candidates need to possess:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. - Minimum of 5 years' HR or related experience. - 3+ years of experience leading teams or projects.

Preferred experience includes:

- Strong experience working with PeopleSoft 8.9V. - Specific knowledge working with the Compensate Employee, Defined Business Rules, Administer Workforce, and PeopleSoft for Running Queries modules required. - The ideal candidate will have experience handling payroll on a global scale. - Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience processing payroll for a large corporation. - Ability to prioritize and multi-task workload is required. - Must be able to coach and build team. - Experience working in record management required. - Must be familiar and comfortable working with Imaging Systems. - Must be an analytical, strategic person, who thinks quickly on their feet.
