Private Equity (Energy & renewable resources)

The Client

Our client is a Hong Kong based full fledged financial services institution with business arms in Corporate Finance advisory, brokerage & equities trading as well as Asset Management. With offices in China and Hong Kong, they are now looking to set up a Private Equity Fund focusing in the Energy and Renewable Resources sector in China. This fund will have an intended capacity of USD 250 million and will operate under the new rule, "Strategic Foreign Investors Rule". As part of this new initiative, my client is looking for a high calibre Chief Financial Officer to join them.

The Role & Responsibilities

Based in Hong Kong and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be in charged of all the financial activities of the private equity business, including month end closing, fund evaluations, as well as looking after the day to day operations. At the same time, the incumbent will be expected to originate new investment opportunities, and be involved in deal structuring, as well as formulating tax strategies to ensure an efficient investment.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years relevant experience coming from Private Equity or Asset management and have experience in deal origination/ structuring in the Energy and Renewable resources sector, especially in China. The candidate should possess good knowledge of international accounting and taxation laws and standards, and have excellent English as well as Mandarin.
