Top tier independent equity research boutique presents unique opportunity for a savvy, experienced, business development & equity sales professional to market our value-added research to U.S. and European financial institutions (primarily hedge funds).

The firm engages in consumer/retail sector equity research and markets its product solely to large hedge funds and mutual funds. The research is marketed on a subscription basis and the limited distribution allows the firm’s analysts to often become an integral part of their client’s decision making process.  Current clients include several of the largest and most prestigious hedge funds and mutual funds in the world.

The firm is exploring plans to begin actively marketing its product to a somewhat broader client base. Then, in the next 6-12 months, the firm plans to leverage its stellar reputation for industry perspective and superior due diligence and expand its research team and focus on new sectors.

The position has an excellent compensation potential that includes a base salary and incentives. The position is based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate current product offering and client relationships. Help determine most appropriate strategy for growth of the current business model.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan to market the firm’s services to large institutional investors in the U.S. and Europe.

• Manage all aspects of the sales cycle and current client relationships.

• Help determine best strategy to expand the business into additional sectors. Take on a COO-like role to implement the firm’s expansion.

Ideal candidates will possess:

• Well developed communication skills and a strong educational background (MBA or CFA preferred).

• 5+ years of capital markets/institutional sales experience.  The firm has a bias towards candidates that

have worked at a top franchise and have experience covering large hedge funds.

• MUST have demonstrated analytic and quantitative skills.
