BGI is seeking a Senior Investment Strategist who will be responsible for commercialization, development, and communication of our AlpExTM strategies in the US.
The Hedge Fund Management Group is BGI’s fund of hedge funds business and is responsible for the BGI AlpExTM funds - a diversified portfolio of hedge funds where the underlying managers are sourced external to BGI. HFMG is well positioned for future growth and with asset flows into fund hedge funds projected to be strong on the back of increasing allocations by institutional investors. We are looking to capitalize upon this exciting opportunity by appointing an Investment Strategist to join the team.
Success will only be achieved by working in partnership with the channel teams and the Investment Strategist will be expected to take the lead in supporting the sales process for our flagship products and building out the US business. The person will also be expected to get involved with product development initiatives and to contribute to the thought process around improving the investment performance of our strategies.
Responsibilities
Drive asset gathering initiatives in the US.
Lead management of pricing, packaging, marketing, messaging and capacity utilization of our strategies.
Work in partnership with the channels and provide support in the representation of our products to end-clients and consultant prospects. This will include domestic and potentially some international travel.
Educate channels on our capabilities and products and serve as their HFMG Product Specialist.
Provide technical support on products and communicate performance and strategy changes to channels and end-clients.
Maintain close working relationships with the compliance and legal teams to ensure all business activity is conducted in a fully compliant manner.
Develop and maintain an understanding of our end-to-end investment process.
Maintain a high level of knowledge about the hedge fund environment, the various strategy types and the factors driving their performance.
Own and manage aspects of product management for the AlpEx funds.
Contribute insights and ideas to research and portfolio management to enhance investment capabilities.
Generate, lead and manage new strategy/product development when needed.
Assist in the formulation of business strategy for the Hedge Fund Management Group.
Qualifications
MBA and/or MS in Economics, Finance, or related field preferred.
10+ years investment experience required, preferably in a hedge fund related role.
Proven track record in contributing to asset raising initiatives.
Strong understanding and involvement in global markets: equity, fixed income, currency and commodities.
Solid quantitative skills.
Strong leadership and business skills; outstanding communication skills; team player.
Demonstrated success with client and industry presentations.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
